- Shady Side is on a peninsula surrounded by water. There are many creeks
and inlets in the area — making it perfect for people who wanted
to fish and crab.
- The first settlers in Shady Side were probably Conoy Indians, part
of the Piscataway. They farmed here, growing squash, pumpkins, and tobacco.
